MORNING
Untouched day
to be held for ever,
unintruded, beautiful.
Tall trees tipped with green promise
reach to the quiet sky,
birds in sweetness trembling their branches.
Slanted sunlight
through the pear blossom dapples the grass,
gentling everything.
A time to hold
for those who cannot see.
One day someone may hold it for me.
