OCTOBER
Autumn lights,
days of gentle changing
russet to gold.
Skeletal trees with a new intricate beauty
their secrets buried deep.
Fallen apples
juicy labyrinths for wasps.
Once soft clothing
scrunches under our feet,
then is lifted and flung
in a wild dance
as the wind changes.
A soft dying,
its sadness somehow unsad.
